A chaotic New Year's Eve party is thrown by Eric and Beth Baird, who count down to the bells in traditional Scottish style with their sons, Beth's unpredictable sister Caroline and their Latimer Crescent neighbours. As friends and family gather, Eric and Beth hope the highlight of the night is the return of one of their sons, Angus, who's serving in Iraq.
