At the age of 19, Ryan Ferguson was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 40 years in prison. After serving 10 years, he was exonerated and released. Since leaving prison in 2013, he has committed himself to helping others who have been wrongfully convicted of crimes to clear their names. In each episode of this series, Ferguson and co-investigator Eva Nagao, a passionate fighter for justice reform, take a look at a controversial case in which an inmate claims to be innocent. The pair examines evidence, some of which may be new, and analyzes never-before-heard witness accounts to help guide them on their journey to uncovering the truth. The featured cases include a teenager accused of killing his mother and a man sentenced to life in prison for his friend's death.
