Inspired by her teenage years in the 1970s, Kathy Burke - in her first-ever TV series script - pens a story of how she navigated the confusion of adolescence to become, from humble beginnings, the award-winning actress and comic she is now. The four-part series stars Ami Metcalf as the younger Burke and Aimee-Ffion Edwards as her best friend, Mary, two 14-year-olds who talk about family, friends, the future, and boys as they walk around the streets of Islington. Burke appears in each episode as a nun who oversees children she hates, and comedy legend Jerry Sadowitz plays nut case Jimmy the Jew.
