What We Choose To Remember looks at Quebec's history through the lens of waves of immigration, from historic Anglos who arrived centuries ago, to Allophones fleeing hardship after WWII, and recent immigrants attracted by Quebec's French language and culture. Presented in 50 communities in every region of Quebec since it was released at the Hudson Film Festival in 2022, the film is thought-provoking, myth-busting, funny and surprising. Filmed on the 50th anniversary of the FLQ crisis, What We Choose To Remember film interviews members of families that chose to remain in Quebec during the turbulent years, as well as newer immigrants whose families arrived in successive waves of immigration and are happy to call Quebec their home.
