When bluefin tuna season ends in Gloucester, Mass., it's just beginning in North Carolina's Outer Banks, a perfect opportunity to pit North vs. South in a pro fishermen contest. New England captains featured on National Geographic's popular series "Wicked Tuna" include fan-favorite Dave Marciano, first mate Jay Muenzner, and hot-head Tyler McLaughlin, who tries to salvage his career by teaming with Paul Hebert. In the treacherous Outer Banks, the Gloucester rod-and-reel vets must master "greensticking" -- trolling artificial squid from a 30-foot fiberglass pole to lure bluefin to the surface. Capt. Greg Mayer, whose Fishin' Frenzy crew hauls in top-dollar tuna each year, leads a seasoned North Carolina fleet.
