`World Series of Dating' is a comedy-reality series hybrid that turns dating into a competitive sport, with all of the usual elements of sports broadcasts - overblown graphics, music and (scripted) analysis. The dates are real, featuring real people on actual first dates - that is if the woman chooses to date the guy. As soon as the woman sees the guy, she can choose to buzz him out of the game for whatever reason. If she does, an Americanised referee discusses the foul with the lady to decide whether the potential date gets a warning or is sent home and replaced by someone else. Commentators and a reporter round out the sports-style telecast. When it's all said and done, one man is officially crowned as Britain's Greatest Living Dater.
